You should have your boiler serviced once every 12 months by a Gas Safe registered engineer.

Check your thermostat and pressure gauge first. If everything looks normal, contact a Gas Safe engineer to diagnose and fix the fault properly. 

A leaking boiler usually means a damaged internal seal, corroded pipe, or loose joint. Even a small leak can lead to pressure loss or electrical hazards — don’t ignore it.

Noisy boilers often indicate:
• Air trapped in the system
• Limescale buildup on the heat exchanger (“kettling”)
• Low water pressure
• A failing pump
Bleeding your radiators may help, but persistent noise needs a proper check by an engineer. 

If your boiler is over 10–15 years old, breaks down frequently, or your energy bills are rising, it might be time to consider a replacement.
